By accessing or using DriftScript, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using the service.
2. Description of Service
DriftScript provides a secure platform for temporary encrypted messages that self-destruct after being read or upon expiration. Our service is designed for legitimate communications that require privacy and security.
3. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree not to use DriftScript for:
- Illegal activities or to promote illegal activities
- Transmitting malicious software or harmful code
- Distributing unauthorized copyrighted material
- Sending spam, chain letters, or unsolicited messages
- Harassing, threatening, or intimidating others
- Impersonating another person or entity
- Interfering with the proper functioning of the service
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to DriftScript systems
4. Content Responsibility
You are solely responsible for the content of the messages you transmit through DriftScript. While we do not monitor or access message content due to our encryption methods, you agree not to use our service for content that would violate our Acceptable Use Policy.
5. Privacy and Data Security
Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference, details how we handle data, including any technical data processed, our use of essential session mechanisms, and our use of third-party services like Google AdSense. The use of such third-party services requiring non-essential cookies or tracking is subject to your explicit consent obtained via our Usercentrics consent banner, as outlined in the Privacy Policy. We implement robust security measures, but acknowledge that no electronic transmission or storage method is 100% secure.
6. Message Expiration and Deletion
Messages sent through DriftScript are automatically deleted:
- After being read once by the recipient
- When they reach their expiration time (as selected by the sender)
- After multiple unsuccessful password attempts (if password-protected)
Once deleted, messages cannot be recovered, even by DriftScript administrators.
7. Service Availability
While we strive to maintain high availability, DriftScript is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the service and reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service without prior notice.
8. Limitation of Liability
DriftScript and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use or inability to use the service, including but not limited to:
- Loss of data or messages
- Cost of procurement of substitute goods or services
- Unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions
- Any other matter relating to the service
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
DriftScript is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
10. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes by posting the updated terms on our website. Your continued use of DriftScript after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Germany, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You agree to submit to the personal and exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Germany.
12. Attribution
DriftScript is based on the original Temp.PM project. In accordance with its license, DriftScript remains free, open-source, and includes the original authors' information.
